Discover one of the world's last great wildernesses on an unforgettable expedition through Svalbard, where endless daylight illuminates dramatic glaciers, snow-covered mountains and vast expanses of Arctic sea ice. Travelling aboard Quark Expeditions' purpose-built
Ocean Explorer and
Ultramarine, this extraordinary voyage offers a rare opportunity to witness the High Arctic as it awakens from winter.
Your adventure begins in Helsinki before a private charter flight transports you to Longyearbyen, the gateway to Norway's remote Svalbard archipelago. From here, embark on an immersive expedition where every day is shaped by nature, allowing your experienced Expedition Team to seek out the best wildlife encounters and spectacular scenery.
Spring is one of the most rewarding times to visit Svalbard. Beneath the glow of the Midnight Sun, the Arctic begins its annual transformation as sea ice reaches its greatest extent, snow-covered landscapes slowly awaken and migratory wildlife returns. Watch as meltwater trickles across frozen terrain, seabird colonies burst into life and the pristine wilderness reveals the first signs of a new season.
Spend your days exploring magnificent fjords, towering glaciers and drifting sea ice by Zodiac and on guided shore landings. Search for iconic Arctic wildlife including polar bears, walruses, Arctic foxes, Svalbard reindeer, seals and beluga whales, while keeping watch for the arrival of migratory whales and thousands of nesting seabirds. With luck, you may even step onto the sea ice itself for an unforgettable polar experience.
Throughout the voyage, your Expedition Team will share their expert knowledge of the Arctic's unique ecosystems, geology, wildlife and history, enriching every moment of your journey. Each expedition follows a flexible itinerary, allowing the crew to adapt to changing ice conditions and maximise opportunities for exploration and wildlife viewing.
From breathtaking fjords and immense glaciers to endless snowfields glowing beneath 24 hours of daylight, Svalbard offers an extraordinary polar adventure unlike anywhere else on Earth.
